All the attention was diverted towards India skipper Suryakumar Yadav and Pakistan skipper Salman Ali Agha. The match between the two arch-rivals will take place at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai on Sunday (14th September).
Both the captains addressed the questions related to the game between arch-rivals. However, what caught the attention of many was what happened after the press conference ended, and both Suryakumar Yadav and Salman Ali Agha went off.
Suryakumar Yadav and Salman Ali Agha didn’t shake hands
Suryakumar Yadav and Salman Ali Agha didn’t shake hands and weren’t part of the customary handshakes or hugs as Salman went towards the exit. On the other hand, Suryakumar shook hands and hugged the other captains.
This clearly sends a message about what is about to come in the Asia Cup 2025 game between India and Pakistan. With political tensions also going on between them, it promises to be an exciting battle.
Suryakumar Yadav also didn’t shy away from saying that they will be aggressive on the field during the game against Pakistan. He said:
“Aggression (is) always there on the field and you can’t do without aggression if you want to win.”
On the other hand, Salman Agha also said that he won’t stop his players from being aggressive. He added:
“If someone wants to be aggressive, that is his call. From my side, I don’t give anyone any instructions.”
The Asia Cup 2025 will begin with the game between the Afghanistan National Cricket Team and the Hong Kong Cricket Team. The match will be played at the Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi.
